Yesterday, we decided to visit one of our English friends in the village, Sandra, to escape the builders – she made us very welcome and gave us lunch, and lots of wine – but she was having heating installed – wonderful company, but no less noisey!

But it hasn’t all been work, we’ve treated ourselves to a couple of odd days at the seaside (Torremolinas & Fuengirola), where the temperature has been 23 degrees, it’s a bit cooler up here the other side of the Malaga mountains.

For breakfast we’ve been enjoying the pomegranates from the garden,

but the tree is too prolific for us and we’ve given most of them away because they were starting to split on the tree, inviting all the birds in southern Spain to come feast on them.
