Something else new this year, is that my English friends here, and I , now meet up regularly with some Spanish friends for breakfast to exchange language. They are keen to improve their English so we do a bit in English and a bit in Spanish – somewhat reminiscent of ‘Allo, ‘Allo! ( but in Spanish, obviously!)

On Easter Sunday I drove up to Extremadura to see Kate Poole & Ian Lock ( about 200 miles) via Seville! Managed to get there and back without incident! They looked after me very well, we did a bit of sightseeing, the Alcazaba in Alburquerque and the Alcazar in Badajoz (complete with obligatory stork), and drank far too much red wine!
